The President is the chief executive of the University. It is the duty of the President to ensure that the provisions of the Constitution and the Laws of the University are observed. Therefore, the President possesses powers that are deemed necessary for this purpose and, in particular, to ensure that every unit or body of authority acts within its powers and terms of reference.
The President also exercises general supervision over the arrangements for instruction, administration, research, teaching and learning, finance, day to day affairs, welfare and discipline in the University.
